Doctoral Supervisor School of Accountancy, Economics and FinanceDr Ji (George) Wu (武霁) is an associate professor of finance at the School of Accountancy, Economics, and Finance, Massey University (Albany). George received his PhD in Finance from Lincoln University in New Zealand in 2012. George is a board member of both the Asian Finance Association and the Accounting & Finance Association in Australia and New Zealand. George is also an Overseas Committee Member of the Beijing Overseas Chinese Federation and a visiting professor at the School of Accountancy and the China International Low Carbon College, Shandong University of Finance and Economics. George is also a member of the Board of Directors of the New Zealand Jiangsu Culture and Tourism Chamber of Commerce and an Academic Board Member at the Canterbury Institute of Management, New Zealand. Before joining Massey University, George, as an assistant professor in finance, taught and conducted research at the Institute for Financial & Accounting Studies at Xiamen University from Oct. 2012 to Feb. 2017.
George’s research focuses on, but is not limited to, behavioral finance, financial anomalies, empirical corporate finance, China’s capital markets, biodiversity exposure and disclosure, gambling culture in capital markets, and climate finance. So far, George has published 48 papers, including 39 in SSCI journals. George’s research has been widely published in international refereed journals, such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Banking & Finance, Energy Economics, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Review of Financial Analysis, and others. George is an anonymous reviewer for over one hundred finance, accounting, and management journals.
